When leaving dog and the night sleeping on sofa.What can we do to train to sleep in his bed?
Our dog is suddenly slip on our sofas. We left a wknd, our daughter stayed at home with our dog and he slid on the sofas and trails bed when I wake up at night or return home during the day. So he knows not to climb on the couch because he runs his own bed! How can we train to keep off the sofa? I bought his own soft bed couch dog.
You must catch it in the act and say no. You can put something on the couch he can not lay on it, or lift up the cushions. You can also try adding a blanket or pillow to the sofa-bed that you sent it. He may want something that smells like you. Or he might want something to snuggle into. My dog has a regular bed pillow on his dog bed that is tucked in a little when he puts on it. Before I did that, he hated his bed. He has always go on the couch. Can not stop them from doing this when we're gone. So I have a sheet on the couch that I can withdraw when we go to sit.
